Alaska is in the northwest extremity of the North American continent and is the largest state in the United States by area. Often referred to as the last frontier, in winter Alaska is cold, very cold! From a travellers point of view, it's major draw card is the famed Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights), which very luckily came out on the last night of the trip in Fairbanks. In summer temperatures are much warmer and in the north the midnight sun can be witnessed. A fascinating frozen wonderland, put this place on your bucket list!
